CNOM: An International Expert Seminar Supporting Swimming Coach Education
As part of its commitment to the continuous education of sports coaches, the Moroccan National Olympic Committee (CNOM), in partnership with World Aquatics and the Royal Moroccan Swimming Federation, organized a training seminar for swimming coaches on December 17–18, 2025.
Led by James GIBSON, former world champion and international expert with World Aquatics, and Pernille BLUME, Olympic champion, the seminar offered a programme combining theoretical content, practical workshops, and discussion sessions focused on the challenges of coaching and performance. More than 30 coaches, nominated by the Royal Moroccan Swimming Federation, took part in this training pathway, with athletes participating in the practical workshops.
On the occasion of this seminar, Mr. Faïçal LARAÏCHI, President of the Moroccan National Olympic Committee, welcomed the speakers during an institutional meeting, highlighting the importance placed on quality dialogue with international experts within the framework of training initiatives.
This initiative is part of the continuity of discussions held by the President of the CNOM with Mr. Husain Al-Musallam, President of World Aquatics, during a meeting that took place in August 2025 at the CNOM headquarters in Rabat. These exchanges focused on the prospects for the development of swimming in Morocco and on initiatives aimed at promoting the discipline at both national and international levels.
Through this action, the CNOM reaffirms its determination to translate the strategic orientations shared with its international partners into concrete initiatives, placing coach education at the heart of the sustainable development and structuring of swimming in Morocco.
