Moroccan athletes reach the podium at the Karate 1 - Premier League in Istanbul
The Moroccan karate delegation delivered an outstanding performance at the Karate 1 - Premier League, held from 23 to 25 January 2026 in Istanbul, Türkiye, securing two medals through Nissrine BROUK and Chaimae EL HAYTI.
In the women’s kumite -68 kg category, Nissrine BROUK claimed the gold medal after an impressive campaign, crowned by a 4–2 victory over Egypt’s Hadir HENDY in the final. In the women’s kumite -55 kg category, Chaimae EL HAYTI earned the bronze medal, defeating Luxembourg’s Jennifer WARLING 6–3 in the bronze medal match.
The Istanbul event, part of the World Karate Federation (WKF) Karate 1 - Premier League circuit, ranks among the most demanding competitions on the international calendar. Bringing together the world’s elite karate athletes, it represents a key opportunity to earn valuable points in the global rankings.
These results highlight the growing strength and competitiveness of Moroccan karate on the international stage and reflect the continued progress of women’s karate in Morocco in a highly competitive international environment.
