Our national weightlifting team won a total of 78 medals at the Arab Championships and African Championships, held from 7 to 13 October 2026 in Mostaganem, Algeria.

The African Championships featured cadet and junior categories, while the Arab Championships also included senior competitions. In weightlifting, separate rankings are established for the snatch, clean and jerk, and total, allowing athletes to win several medals within the same category.

At the end of the two championships, our national team had secured 4 gold, 34 silver and 40 bronze medals, for a total of 78 medals.

At the Arab Championships, Morocco won 47 medals. The cadets claimed 15 medals, including 11 silver and 4 bronze. The juniors secured 16 medals, with 8 silver and 8 bronze, while the seniors also collected 16 medals, including 6 silver and 10 bronze.

At the African Championships, the Moroccan weightlifters added 31 medals to their tally. The cadets won 14 medals, including 5 silver and 9 bronze, while the juniors secured 17 medals, with 4 gold, 4 silver and 9 bronze.

With this total of 78 medals, our national team concluded its participation in the 2026 Arab and African Championships with results across several age and weight categories, on both the Arab and continental stages.
