Futsal: Morocco tops Group A after victory over Libya

Our national futsal team secured a 6-0 victory over Libya on Friday, October 16, 2026, in Rabat, in the third and final matchday of the group stage of the Futsal Africa Cup of Nations “Morocco 2026”.

Soufiane EL MESRAR opened the scoring in the 3rd minute before adding a second goal in the 8th minute. Othmane EL IDRISSI made it 3-0 in the 12th minute, giving our national team a three-goal lead at half-time.

In the second half, Soufiane EL MESRAR completed his hat-trick in the 24th minute. Othmane EL IDRISSI then scored his second goal of the match in the 30th minute, before Bilal BAKKALI rounded off the scoring to make it 6-0.

With a third win in as many matches, following victories over Algeria (4-0) and Zambia (7-0), our national team finishes top of Group A with nine points. Morocco concludes the group stage with 17 goals scored and none conceded.

Our national team will play its semi-final on Monday, October 19, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat. It will face the runner-up of Group B, to be determined following the match between Egypt and Angola scheduled for Saturday, October 17 at 8:00 p.m.
