AFCON 2025: Morocco Secures Qualification for the Grand Final

Morocco have secured their place in the final of the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 after an intense semi-final clash against Nigeria, decided by a dramatic penalty shootout at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat (0–0, 4–2 on penalties). Strong and determined, the Atlas Lions matched the Super Eagles throughout a tightly contested match before making the difference in the decisive shootout, reaching the final for the first time since 2004.

During the crucial shootout, goalkeeper Yassine BOUNOU produced key saves, while Youssef EN-NESYRI  converted the winning penalty, sealing Morocco’s qualification for the final.

In the final of AFCON 2025, Morocco will face Senegal on Sunday, 18 January 2026, once again at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat. The match will bring together the two best teams of the tournament and offers Morocco the opportunity to claim a second continental title, fifty years after their historic triumph in 1976.
