African Open Tunis 2026: Moroccan judo claims 21 medals
Present in Tunis from 13 to 15 February 2026 for the Radès African Open Judo tournament, the Moroccan national team delivered an outstanding performance, securing a total of 21 medals across all age categories (cadets, juniors, and seniors).
Morocco’s overall haul included 6 gold medals, 3 silver medals, and 12 bronze medals.
In the senior category, Morocco finished 8th in the overall standings, with 1 silver medal and 6 bronze medals. The silver medal was won by Moubarak ABOU EL FIDA BOULAICH (-66 kg). The bronze medals were secured by Aniss IJIOUI and Qassim ABOUALLALA (-60 kg), Soulaimane EL MEKKAOUI (-66 kg), Abdelali HAKIKA and Ilias JACOBS (-73 kg), as well as Oulaya KHAIRI (-78 kg).
In the junior category, the national team finished in an impressive 2nd place, with 4 gold medals, 1 silver medal, and 2 bronze medals.
Among the cadets, Morocco secured 3rd place overall, earning 2 gold medals, 1 silver medal, and 4 bronze medals.
This performance confirms the sustained presence and competitiveness of Moroccan judo on continental podiums across all age groups.
