Fencing: Morocco Wins 4 Medals at the 2026 African Cadet & Junior Championships

The Moroccan national fencing team competed at the African Cadet and Junior Championships, held from 16 to 20 February 2026 in Dakar, Senegal, winning a total of 4 medals: 1 gold and 3 bronze.

The gold medal was won in the U15 women’s foil by ZAIMI Hiba, placing Morocco on the top step of the continental podium in this category.

Morocco also added 3 bronze medals to its tally. Individually, EL BOUNJAIMI Mohamed finished third in the U17 sabre. In the team events, the U17 women’s foil team, composed of EL HABTI Maroua, ZAIMI Hiba, EL IDRISSI Hafssa and MEFTAH Radia, won bronze. The U20 men’s épée team, featuring AIT BEN AMEUR Jabir, GHAZI Zakaria, MSSASSI Mohamed Taha and BELKIHEL Anas, also secured a bronze medal.

This continental result confirms the strong presence of Morocco’s young fencers on the African stage.
