Olympic Educational Session: Olympic Values at the Heart of Discussions in Fez
As part of its efforts to promote Olympic culture, the Moroccan National Olympic Committee, through the Moroccan Olympic Academy, organized an educational session entitled "Exchanges on Olympism and Sporting Values" on 26 June 2026 at the Institute of Sport Sciences in Fez, bringing together around fifty students enrolled in the Master's programme in Sport and Territorial Development.
This initiative is part of the Moroccan Olympic Academy's mission to promote the fundamental principles of Olympism and to raise awareness among future sport professionals of the values of excellence, respect and friendship that underpin the Olympic Movement.
The session was led by Mrs. Laila EL AMRANI, Head of the Moroccan Olympic Academy, alongside Mr. Brahim LAHLAFI, bronze medallist in the men's 5,000 m at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, and Mr. Rachid EL BSIR, silver medallist in the men's 1,500 m at the Barcelona 1992 Olympic Games. The speakers shared their experiences and discussed the foundations of Olympism, the role of the Moroccan National Olympic Committee, and the contribution of sport to education, citizenship and the development of society.
Through this educational session, students had the opportunity to deepen their understanding of Olympic ideals and engage with distinguished figures who have left their mark on Moroccan sport, fostering stronger links between the academic community and the Olympic Movement.
Through this initiative, the CNOM reaffirms its commitment to promoting Olympic values and strengthening sports culture among Moroccan youth.
