Taekwondo: 17 Medals for Morocco in Fujairah

From January 31 to February 7, 2026, the city of Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates hosted two major events on the international and Arab taekwondo calendar: the 13th Fujairah International Open (G2), held from January 31 to February 4, followed by the 6th Arab Cup, contested on February 6 and 7.

 

At the Fujairah International Open (G2), the Moroccan national team won a total of 5 medals, including 2 silver and 3 bronze, in a competition that brought together more than 2,100 athletes from 72 countries.

 

The silver medals were won by Aya TAWFIQ (-49 kg) and Malak SHAHID (-52 kg), while the bronze medals were secured by Samar LAMALIH (-59 kg), Mohamed Rayan AL SADIQ (-73 kg) and Farah TOUZANI (-46 kg).

 

The national team then confirmed its strong performance at the Arab Cup, which gathered 22 countries, 1,282 participants and 59 international referees. Competing in the senior men’s and women’s categories, the Moroccan team achieved an impressive total of 12 medals: 8 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze.

 

The gold medals were won by Amina DEHHAOUI (-57 kg), Hajiba HARKASS (+73 kg), Farah TOUZANI (-46 kg), Nazha EL ASSAL (-49 kg), Oumaima EL BOUCHTI (-53 kg), Nada LAAREJ (-62 kg), Majd JAWAD (-54 kg) and Zakaria EL KHOUEIR (-87 kg).

 

The silver medals went to Fatima Zahra NEMS (-67 kg) and Hamid ABDOUNI (-74 kg), while the bronze medals were secured by Mariam NEMS (-53 kg) and Mohammed Amine DAHIRI (-68 kg).

 

In total, the Moroccan delegation won 17 medals across the two competitions held in Fujairah, confirming the positive momentum of Moroccan taekwondo and its consistent presence on the podium at international and regional events.
