Taranto 2026: Yazid GHARBI Claims Greco-Roman Wrestling Bronze

Wrestling added another medal to Morocco’s tally at the 20th Mediterranean Games Taranto 2026, as Yazid GHARBI claimed bronze in the men’s Greco-Roman 60kg category.

GHARBI secured his place on the podium with a commanding performance in the bronze-medal bout, defeating Italy’s Gabriele Bouchir 8–0.

In the women’s competition, Zineb ECH-CHEBKI also produced a strong run in the 53kg category, progressing to the bronze-medal bout and finishing just outside the podium places.

GHARBI’s bronze marks a successful contribution from wrestling to Morocco’s campaign at this 20th edition of the Mediterranean Games, adding to the performances delivered by the national delegation in Taranto.

The Taranto 2026 Mediterranean Games continue through 3 September, with more events still to come for Morocco’s athletes.
