CNOM: Olympic Visit to Laayoune
As part of the 50th anniversary of the Green March, the Moroccan National Olympic Committee (CNOM) took part in the School Sports Festival. The event was held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, in Laayoune, and was organized by the Ministry of National Education, Preschool, and Sports, in collaboration with the Royal Moroccan School Sports Federation and the Regional Academy of Education and Training of the Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra region, under the theme: “School sports in the service of citizenship values and the spirit of the Green March.”
The CNOM’s Olympic visit aimed to raise students’ awareness of the core Olympic values: excellence, respect, and friendship. The activities combined the discovery of the history of the Moroccan Olympic movement, interactive quizzes, and sports workshops, offering an experience that was both fun and educational.
More than 1,000 students from 50 schools across the region participated in sports and educational workshops, as well as artistic and creative expression activities. These initiatives allowed young people to celebrate the Green March through artistic performances, patriotic songs, and sporting demonstrations, strengthening their sense of belonging and national pride.
At the end of the festival, the CNOM presented symbolic medals to the students in recognition of their participation and commitment. This initiative reflects the committee’s mission to promote sports as a tool for education and personal development.
