Our men’s pair, Zouheir ELGRAOUI and Soufiane EL GHAROUTI, claimed the 2026 African Beach Volleyball Championship title in Alexandria, Egypt, securing qualification for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

Held from 18 to 22 August, the continental championship brought together 46 teams from 28 African countries, with 24 pairs competing in the men’s tournament and 22 in the women’s event. The continental title secured the winning pair a quota place for LA28.

In the final, ELGRAOUI and EL GHAROUTI defeated Algeria’s Mohamed-Islem KALLOUCHE and Ayyoub DEKKICHE in straight sets (21-19, 21-12) to claim the African title.

The Moroccan pair had previously secured their place in the final with another straight-set victory, defeating Tunisia 2-0 (21-19, 21-15) in the semi-final.

With this continental title, Morocco secures a quota place in the men’s beach volleyball tournament at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, scheduled to take place from 14 to 30 July 2028.

The qualification marks another milestone for Moroccan beach volleyball on the Olympic stage, following the country’s appearances at the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
