Our national tennis team secured its place in the Davis Cup World Group I Play-offs, scheduled for February 2027, following a 4-0 victory over Nigeria in the tie played on 19 and 20 September 2026 at the Club des Cheminots courts in Rabat.

On the opening day, Karim BENNANI gave our national team the lead by defeating Canice ABUA in straight sets (6-1, 6-2). Yassine DLIMI then added the second point with a victory over Yusuf ABUBAKAR by the same score (6-1, 6-2), giving our national team a 2-0 advantage at the end of the first day.

Qualification was secured the following day in the doubles. The Moroccan pair defeated the Nigerian duo of Michael EMMANUEL and Yusuf ABUBAKAR in straight sets (6-3, 6-2). This third point sealed our national team’s place in the play-offs before the final singles match.

Amine JAMJI then completed the victory by defeating Michael EMMANUEL (6-3, 6-4) in the final singles match, bringing the overall score to 4-0.

Competing in this tie as part of World Group II, our national team has now taken another step forward in its Davis Cup campaign and will contest the World Group I Play-offs in February 2027.
